How We Started

NUS Public Health Society (PHSoc) was established in 2018 (then as NUS Public Health Interest Group, PHIG) with the aim to provide a platform for like-minded students to explore Public Health academic and career opportunities.

Inspired by a non-profit organization dedicated to improving global health while on student exchange, this led to a team of passionate undergraduates with a strong interest in public health coming together to form this interest group based in NUS.

Brimming with ideas to not just tackle the problems in the community but also to engage them, the Community Engagement Projects (CEP) was initiated soon after.

This opened up opportunities for the group establish independence and to collaborate with various stakeholders to bring about healthy changes in our community.
